Caladesi Island Historical Marker Ceremony

Celebratory ceremonies were held on Caladesi Island today as a historical marker was dedicated.  The program was planned by the Caladesi DAR. Some of our group attended, in response to the invitation extended by Terry Fortner when she spoke to our group a few months ago. The Caladesi DAR and the Florida Park service organized the event. It looks like it was a pretty day for a celebration.  Thanks to Kay K. for the photos and video below.

In addition, James Schnur, a librarian who works with the Special Collections and University Archives Department at the University of South Florida St. Petersburg, added some information from the celebration to the USFSP Digital Archive.  You can check out the transcription of the presentation, images from the dedication and the program from here.
