Another great day on the river on Saturday, May 9th. We joined the Kayak for Kancer Kure (K4KK) group for a paddle on the Chassahowitzka River. We had about a dozen paddlers all together. The campground had run out of single kayaks to rent by the time we got there so two ladies shared a tandem boat. Although they chose to take only one paddle on the trip, this did not dampen their enthusiasm for fun. They laughed all along the way. We paddled to Maggie’s Crack and some of us tested out the rope swing there. It was a great way to cool off.
After that we paddled back and then headed to Peck’s Old Port Cove in Ozello for lunch. A long drive on a road with many curves but it is well worth it for the almond-crusted grouper.
Looking forward to the next paddle with this great group.
