Although we had more than 50 people signed up to watch the Rays play the Diamondbacks, not everyone showed up. This was probably due to the weather. It was another summer evening with stormy weather that included a couple of waterspouts spotted off Gandy Bridge. While the game was played inside a dome, the lights were affected by the storm so we had a short delay while the power issues got resolved. Who knew a baseball game inside a dome could have a rain delay!
Still we had a good-sized group of people to cheer on the Rays to another victory, keeping them on top of the division.
It was a fun evening of catching up with friends and dining on ball game food. We also got to see Raymond entertain the crowd.
The Rays beat the Diamondbacks 5-2 so the Tropicana Field roof glowed orange as we headed out to find our cars in the darkness. Fortunately, the storm was over by then.
Thanks to Kay for organizing this fun evening for everyone.
