We had a full house at the August monthly meeting.   Our speaker was Dr. Stephen Geiger, a research scientist and the Molluscan Fisheries Subsection Leader at FWC.  He taught us all about scallops so we will be well educated for our scalloping trip to Homosassa this weekend.

2013 Scallop Scurry Report

Last Friday we headed up to Homosassa for our fifth annual scalloping trip, a weekend full of fun and food!

Some ladies headed up early on Friday to get settled in at MacRaes and have a relaxing afternoon.  They hung out at the Shed, a hydration facility located nearby on the docks, listening to a band.  Around 3:00 the stormy weather moved in, eventually leading to tornado warnings.  Continue reading
