April Monthly Dinner: Urban Brew and BBQ

We returned to the Urban Brew and BBQ this month and had success. When we tried to dine here in February it was a cold and foggy night. This week, we could not have asked for better weather. We sat out back at long picnic tables and for those of us facing the west, it was a little bright until the sun got closer to the horizon. And although the Rays were in town to play baseball, we did not have any parking problems. I think all the Rays fans were in the stadium by then.

Everyone enjoyed their BBQ. Some of us had ribs, others had brisket, and at least one had a sandwich. Many had to try the mac ‘N’ cheese. Many of the sides come in small cast-iron skillets. The special sides this night were sweet potato souffle (available with or without marsmhallow topping but why would you not get that topping?!!) and brussel sprouts. The sweet potato souffle also included pecans. It was wonderful.

Then it came time for dessert. The desserts were also served in small cast-iron skillets. Decisions had to be made between a Ghirardelli’s Brownie, Apple Crisp or a Bacon S’more. All three ended up on the table. More yummy food.

The nine of us enjoyed our dinners and are looking forward to the next dinner in May.
